Commercial Noise
Noise from machinery, factory pumps, industrial blowers and processing equipment is continuous and tonal, and can be annoying. Measurements of commercial noise, if not in relation to urban planning or zoning requirements, are often based on complaints from neighbouring residents. Quite often, measuring for just a few minutes with a sound level meter is sufficient to determine the noise level
Traffic Noise
The most common source of environmental noise is road traffic which accounts for more than 90% of unacceptable noise levels in Europe. Therefore, traffic noise reduction measures often have the highest priority – whether imposing restrictions on the noise sources, rezoning residential areas, setting up noise barriers, or enforcing façade sound insulation measures in buildings. Entertainment and Leisure Noise
In the past, event arrangers had to employ a number of people to constantly check multiple sound level meters for noise levels. This simplifies monitoring and reduces the number of personnel required to ensure the right amount of noise for both attendees and the local community.

A construction site changes all the time – the section, site, machinery, material and work crew will vary on any given day.
